Medication Services
Medication serves an important role in mental healthcare. It can aid patients in crisis or manage conditions in the long term. While some patients benefit from therapy alone, many need a combination of medication and therapy interventions.
Whatever a patient’s relationship with medication, managing that medication is an essential component of the process. Patients and health care providers work together to ensure that they have the right balance of medication, and that the intervention is having the right effect on the patient’s mental state.
At ICHD, our Medication Services and medication management program is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for clients of all ages. Our experienced staff specializes in prescribing, monitoring, and overseeing psychotropic medications tailored to the unique needs of each individual. We compassionately address a range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, ensuring that every client receives the highest standard of treatment and support on their journey to wellness.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
MAT is a comprehensive program tailored to the individual needs of patients, combining medication and behavioral therapy to effectively treat substance use disorders. Research has shown that MAT is more effective than using medication or counseling alone for substance use treatment.
We view addiction as both a behavioral and medical disease. While MAT addresses the medical aspects of addiction, counseling services focus on lifestyle and behavioral components. Counseling helps clients develop coping skills and teaches strategies to prevent or avoid relapse. Services may include personalized treatment plans, social detoxification, intermediate inpatient treatment, reintegration programs, intensive outpatient services, outpatient care, case management, and peer support.
Clients involved in Medication-Assisted Treatment can expect to meet with a licensed counselor, nurse, and prescriber who will assess the necessary level of care and create a specific, individualized treatment plan.
